About the role.As a Potato Grader, you will play a key role in supporting raw material quality and production flow by ensuring incoming potato loads are accurately sampled, graded, and directed. This role requires attention to detail, strong teamwork, and a commitment to safety, quality, and operational excellence within the potato house environment. We are hiring a full-time and temporary opportunity, working a 4-on, 4-off schedule. What you'll be doing.Unload and sample incoming potato trucks and direct loads into appropriate binsEnsure correct potato color and gravity specifications are followed during unloadingCollect approximately 25 lb samples from each truck load for grading purposesWeigh, wash, and prepare samples while ensuring no materials are lost during processingDeliver prepared samples to potato graders for evaluationMaintain cleanliness and ensure proper operation of potato house equipment, walls, and doorsAccurately enter data into systems related to sampling and grading activitiesCommunicate effectively with the Shift Manager regarding raw material changes or concernsFollow HACCP, GMP, and all safety protocols, including proper PPE useParticipate in team meetings and perform other duties as assigned What you'll need to be successful.Grade 12 diploma or GED (considered an asset)Previous experience as a Potato Grader or in a similar role (considered an asset)Strong teamwork, communication, and interpersonal skillsProven reliability with excellent attendance and safety recordAbility to work rotating shiftsPhysically capable of lifting approximately 25 lbs and performing manual tasksComfortable working with cleaning chemicalsWillingness to complete forklift training certificationAbility to adapt to changing operational needs in a professional mannerSuccessful completion of a 90-day training period About the team.You will be part of a collaborative operations team within the potato house, working closely with Shift Managers, graders, and fellow team members to ensure smooth unloading, sampling, and grading processes. Compensation Package: - Starting at 24.40 CAD hourly + Hourly Pay Differential for applicable shifts The above reflects the target compensation range for the position at the time of posting.
