About this role

The Joint Economic Development Initiative (JEDI) is dedicated to supporting Indigenous peoples in reaching their full economic development potential through advocacy and networking. The Mobile Makerspace Facilitators support the delivery of hands-on STEAM programming for Indigenous youth and communities across New Brunswick. This role focuses on facilitating workshops, supporting learners, and assisting with the delivery of culturally grounded technology programming through the Mobile Makerspace. Working as part of the Mobile Makerspace team, the Facilitators will deliver engaging learning experiences in areas such as digital fabrication, design, electronics, and emerging technologies while supporting a positive, culturally safe learning environment.Key ResponsibilitiesProgram DeliveryFacilitate Mobile Makerspace workshops in schools, communities, and partner locationsSupport hands-on learning activities including 3D printing, laser engraving, electronics, coding, and digital designAssist learners in developing problem-solving and creative technology skillsHelp integrate Indigenous knowledge, culture, and community context into programmingParticipant SupportProvide guidance and encouragement to youth participantsSupport learners with varying skill levels and learning stylesFoster a welcoming and inclusive learning environmentProgram PreparationAssist with preparing materials, equipment, and learning spaces for workshopsSupport setup and teardown of the Mobile Makerspace unit and equipmentMaintain organization of supplies and materialCommunity EngagementSupport outreach and programming in Indigenous communities and partner schoolsAssist with events, demonstrations, and community engagement activitiesProgram SupportAssist with collecting participant feedback and documenting program activitiesSupport program evaluation and improvement effortsQualificationsUniversity degree in a related field such as Education and/or Science, Mathematics, Design or other applicable field. An equivalent combination of education and relevant experience may be considered.Experience working with youth or facilitating workshops in hands-on learning environmentsExperience working with Indigenous communities is an assetInterest in STEAM education, technology, or digital fabricationStrong interpersonal and communication skillsAbility to work collaboratively in team environmentsExperience with tools such as: 3D printers, laser engravers, vinyl cutters or heat press, basic electronics or coding is a definite asset.Willingness to travel within New BrunswickSatisfactory criminal background/vulnerable sector clearance and maintenance are required.Candidates must clearly demonstrate how they meet these qualifications on their application.Salary range: $51,458 - $62,893 per annum.Co-share benefits include: Health, Dental, Insurance, Employee Assistance Plan, Savings PlanIf you are interested in joining our team, please submit your confidential resume and cover letter saved as one document to [email protected] by 4:30 p.m. on July 17, 2026 stating Mobile Makerspace Facilitator in the subject line.
