We have supplied Western Canada, Eastern Canada and the territories with high quality miscellaneous structural steel since 2010. We are a fully equipped structural steel shop and we handle all aspects of fabrication including the preparation of steel parts, fabrication and welding, priming/painting, shipments and more?
We are searching for an apprentice welder (2nd or 3rd yr) with good experience or a Journeyman Welder to join our skilled team.
*Main tasks and responsibilities:*
Ø Minimum years experience 5yr
Ø Weld and finish assemblies with careful attention to detail;
Ø CWB GMAW flat/horizontal ticket an asset (must be able to do an in-house weld test);
Ø Some knowledge of structural steel shapes, blueprint reading and tape measure use;
Ø Safe use and basic maintenance of mig welder, angle grinder, plasma cutter;
Ø Overhead crane experience an asset but not mandatory;
Ø Adherence to pre-established standards of performance, shop safety policies and procedures;
Ø Maintain an efficient work environment within the department and on each task;
Ø Consistently punctual and available for 40 hrs/week and overtime as required;
Ø Perform other duties as assigned.
*Terms of Employment:*
Ø Salary: JM: $28-$33 (+) depending of skill
Ø Post: Full time permanent position;
Ø Shift hours: Monday to Thursday, 6:30am ? 5:00pm (OT on Friday as required);
