The Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for maintaining professional and organizational standards and practice in accordance with the Labrador-Grenfell Health Model of Nursing Clinical Practice and reports to the Clinical Nurse Manager.Qualifications:? Graduation from an approved/recognized school of nursing program is required;? Current and continuing practicing licensure with the College of Registered Nurses of Newfoundland and Labrador (CRNNL) is required;? 2 years Acute Care nursing experience within last 5 years; ? Obstetrical Education Program or willingness to complete (within timeframe designated by employer); ? Successful completion of NRP or willingness to complete (within timeframe designated by employer); ? Breastfeeding education/course; ? ACLS, TNCC and Medevac courses are considered an asset; ? Current certification in Basic Life Support (CPR); ? The successful applicant will be required to submit a satisfactory Certificate of Conduct and Vulnerable Sector Check;Duties: (Included but not limited to)? Organizes, plans, implements and evaluates the plan of care for assigned clients in collaboration with the client, family and multi-disciplinary team; ? Initiates and supports breastfeeding; ? Monitors/cares for clients during labor and delivery and post-natal; ? Participates in the auditing process as required; ? Documents as per professional and organizational standards; ? Administers medication and participates in Medication Reconciliation; ? Participates in the orientation, mentorship and preceptoring of staff; ? Represents nursing on various committees as required; ? Participates in quality assurance initiatives as requested/required; ? Practices independently according to professional and organizational standards; ? Acts as a liaison between the client and other healthcare providers; ? Other related duties as required.
