This is an on-site position based in Springhill, Nova Scotia.INDUSTRIAL MECHANICWe are currently looking for an Industrial Mechanic to join our team. Reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor, our ideal candidate has the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. They will also be responsible for the daily repair and emergency breakdown of machinery.SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:Troubleshooting emergency breakdowns as necessaryPreventative maintenance, fixing breakdowns and/or replacing parts on many different production machines.Fabrication by drilling, welding, operating many power tools as required to fix machines or build new partsWorking with different systems including: pneumatic, hydraulic, and automated equipmentReading blueprints, diagrams and schematic diagramsACCOUNTABILITY: Reports to the Plant ManagerEDUCATION, TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:2 to 5 years experience in a similar roleLicensed Journeyman or equivalent experienceDemonstrated ability to follow safe work practices and proceduresAble to problem solve and use critical thinking and decision making skillsAble to follow oral and written directionsAble to function well in a team environment and to communicate clearly with othersBeing flexible and adaptableHaving a proactive/preventive approachAble to work with minimal supervisionBeing punctual and reliableExperience as a Maintenance Mechanic in a similar environment would be a definite assetSKILLS:ProductionDiagramsDecision makingCritical ThinkingSafetyMachineryMaintenanceApply online: Industrial MechanicTHIS JOB DESCRIPTION IN NO WAY STATES OR IMPLIES THAT THESE ARE THE ONLY DUTIES TO BE PERFORMED BY THE EMPLOYEE.
