*Position Summary* Dragon Holdings Ltd. o/a as Edo Japan is seeking an experienced Food Services Manager to lead daily operations at our busy Country Hills Village (NE Calgary) location. In this key leadership role, you will guide a team in delivering high-quality Japanese-inspired fast-casual meals, maintain excellent customer experiences, ensure compliance with all safety and quality standards, and help drive the location's success and profitability. This is an ideal opportunity for a hands-on leader who enjoys the energy of a quick-service restaurant environment. *Work Setting*: Restaurant and food service *Work Location*: On-site only (all duties performed at the restaurant location ? no remote work)
*Main Duties and Responsibilities*
* Lead all daily restaurant operations, coordinating front-of-house service and kitchen activities for smooth performance during all hours. * Develop staff schedules, assign responsibilities, and adjust operations to manage peak traffic effectively. * Monitor sales performance, control labor and food costs, manage inventory levels, and contribute to profitability goals. * Train, coach, and supervise team members; conduct performance reviews and handle any staff-related matters. * Enforce strict food safety, sanitation, and workplace health standards in accordance with Alberta Health regulations and company policies. * Oversee food purchasing, supplier relationships, portion control, and waste minimization while upholding consistent product quality. * Respond promptly to customer inquiries, complaints, and feedback to ensure high levels of guest satisfaction. * Maintain accurate employee records, assist with payroll, and complete necessary regulatory documentation. * Supervise food preparation to meet quality expectations.- Keep the entire facility clean, safe, and well-organized, including regular cleaning of kitchen equipment, workstations, and dining areas. * Promote menu items, support sales initiatives, and build a positive, customer-focused team culture.
*Qualifications and Requirements*
* Candidates must be fluent in English. * Possess a College/CEGEP diploma or equivalent. * 2 years to less than 3 years of restaurant management or supervisory experience in food service, with quick service or casual dining experience being preferred. * Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills. * Proficiency with Microsoft Office, POS systems, and restaurant management tools. * Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment while handling multiple priorities. * Physically capable of meeting the demands of the role (prolonged standing, moderate lifting, etc.). * Flexible availability, including evenings and weekends. * Valid Food Handler Certification (Food Safe) and familiarity with Canadian food safety regulations are strong assets. * Reliable, detail-oriented, and committed to delivering excellent guest experiences with a positive attitude.
