It is a Centre of Excellence for SMBC’s business in Europe, Middle East & Africa and provides a growing range of intra-group services across a variety of Control and Support functions’. </p></div></div><div style="padding:10.0px 0.0px;border:1.0px solid transparent"><div style="font-size:16.0px;word-wrap:break-word"><H2 style="font-size:1.0em;margin:0.0px">Role Summary</H2> </div><div><p>This role is responsible for the end-to-end application management and production support of Compliance systems, including Communication Surveillance, Trade Surveillance, Employee Conflicts of Interest, and associated regulatory platforms.</p> <div> <p>As part of the Back Office Application Management team, the AVP plays a key role in ensuring platform stability, regulatory compliance, and operational resilience. The role requires strong ownership, acting as a senior escalation point, and driving continuous improvement across service delivery, controls, and processes.</p> </div></div></div><div style="padding:10.0px 0.0px;border:1.0px solid transparent"><div style="font-size:16.0px;word-wrap:break-word"><H2 style="font-size:1.0em;margin:0.0px">Position Description</H2> </div><div><div> <p>This role provides senior-level production support and application management for Compliance platforms, with responsibility for ensuring high availability, robust controls, and effective incident management. The AVP acts as a key escalation point for major incidents, coordinating resolution across internal teams and vendors.</p> <p>The role also leads or contributes to change initiatives, regulatory implementations, audits, and risk remediation activities, while driving improvements in automation, monitoring, and operational processes.</p> <p><strong>Key Responsibilities:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Lead incident management and act as an escalation point for high-priority issues</li> <li>Oversee user support, ensuring strong ownership and timely resolution of requests</li> <li>Ensure effective batch monitoring and operational oversight across critical processes</li> <li>Drive change management, working closely with business, development, and vendor teams</li> <li>Manage vendor relationships and service performance</li> <li>Own and deliver audit responses, control validation, and remediation actions</li> <li>Act as SME for Compliance platforms, supporting project delivery and controlled production releases</li> <li>Oversee release management across PROD / REL / QA / UAT environments</li> <li>Coordinate with infrastructure teams to maintain resilient and scalable platforms</li> <li>Drive service delivery improvements, including automation, monitoring, and control enhancements</li> </ul> <p>This role reports to the Back Office Application Management Team Lead and works collaboratively across Application Management functions to deliver a scalable, resilient, and compliant platform aligned to SMBC’s strategic growth.</p> </div></div></div><div style="padding:10.0px 0.0px;border:1.0px solid transparent"><div style="font-size:16.0px;word-wrap:break-word"><H2 style="font-size:1.0em;margin:0.0px">Skills - Knowledge - Experience</H2> </div><div><p><strong>Essential:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Proven experience in Application / Production Support within a regulated financial services environment</li> <li>Strong experience managing multiple high-priority incidents concurrently, with the ability to remain effective under pressure and make sound decisions during critical situations</li> <li>Solid understanding of Incident and Change Management processes, with experience leading resolution and coordination</li> <li>Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with both peers and senior stakeholders</li> <li>Proven ability to work collaboratively across teams and drive outcomes in a cross-functional environment</li> <li>Advanced analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking capabilities</li> </ul> <p><strong>Desirable:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Experience supporting Compliance or Regulatory applications (e.g. surveillance, conflicts of interest, regulatory reporting)</li> <li>Exposure to Communication Surveillance, Trade Surveillance, or Employee Conflicts of Interest platforms</li> <li>Good understanding of audit, risk, and regulatory obligations within financial services</li> <li>Experience working with and managing third-party vendors</li> <li>Familiarity with service management and collaboration tools (e.g. ServiceNow, JIRA, Confluence)</li> <li>Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel</li> <li>Understanding of financial products, markets, and associated regulatory impacts</li> <li>Previous experience working within an Application Support function</li> </ul> <p><strong>Systems / Applications:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Support and monitoring tools: AutoSys, Splunk, PowerShell, ServiceNow, JIRA</li> <li>Business applications: NICE Actimize (Surveil-X), StarCompliance, Bloomberg Transaction Cost Analysis</li> <li>Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel</li> </ul></div></div><div style="padding:10.0px 0.0px;border:1.0px solid transparent"><div style="font-size:16.0px;word-wrap:break-word"><H2 style="font-size:1.0em;margin:0.0px">Competencies</H2> </div><div><div>Customer Focus</div><div>Driving Change</div><div>Driving Results</div><div>Embraces Diversity</div><div>Enterprise Leadership</div><div>Judgement and Decision Making</div><div>Risk Management</div><div>Strategic and Visionary</div><div>Trust and Integrity</div></div></div></div>
