You’ll gain exposure to a wide range of projects and disciplines, contributing to initiatives that directly impact communities and industries throughout Queensland.</span><br><span style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif">Through our structured Graduate Engineer Rotation Program, you’ll build your technical expertise, business acumen, and leadership potential, setting you up for long-term success in the rail industry. This position reports into the Lead Structural Engineer and is permanently based in Townsville. </span><br><span style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif"> </span><br><strong><span style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif">What You’ll Do</span></strong><br><span style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif"> </span><br><span style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif">• Take part in the Graduate Engineer Rotation Program, gaining broad experience and understanding across different engineering and business functions, commencing in February 2027</span><br><span style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif">• Support both operational and capital planning, contributing to effective and commercially viable engineering solutions.</span><br><span style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif">• Assist in the development of strategies for managing structural assets within our Regional business unit.</span><br><span style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif">• Build strong relationships and represent Queensland Rail professionally by applying high-level communication, interpersonal, and decision-making skills.</span><br><span style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif">• Identify opportunities for innovation, process improvement, and emerging technologies to enhance our commercial performance.</span><br><span style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif">• Work collaboratively with engineering teams to deliver practical and cost-effective solutions.</span><br><span style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif">• Ensure all work complies with relevant safety, quality, and environmental standards, including legislation and regulations.</span><br><span style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif">• Work towards becoming a Registered Professional Engineer of Queensland (RPEQ).</span><br><span style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif"> </span><br><strong><span style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif">Additional Requirements</span></strong><br><span style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif"> As part of the role, you’ll be expected to:</span><br><span style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif">• Adhere to Queensland Rail’s Code of Conduct and uphold all legal and safety responsibilities.</span><br><span style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif">• Travel interstate or intrastate, as required by project need done on a fortnightly basis </span><br><span style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif">• Collaborate with mentors, managers, and fellow graduates to grow your capabilities.</span><br><span style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif">• Participate in ongoing learning and development initiatives.</span><br><span style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif">• Take on additional projects or assignments as directed by your Hiring Manager or the Graduate and Learning Criteria</span></strong><br><span style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif">We’re looking for graduates who demonstrate:</span><br><span style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif">• Strong project management skills, including the ability to gather, analyse, and integrate complex information.</span><br><span style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif">• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities, both written and verbal.</span><br><span style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif">• Solid analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making capabilities.</span><br><span style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif">• The ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.</span><br><span
