OVERVIEW The Material Handler supports safe and efficient production and warehouse operations through material handling, staging, loading, receiving, labeling, and production support activities. This role requires attention to detail and adherence to quality, food safety, and workplace safety procedures. This position requires the flexibility to work various shifts, including Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays, holidays, and overtime, as needed. Weekend shifts may be mandated based on business needs. DETAILED ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES <ul style="list-style-type:disc"> <li style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif">Perform shipping and receiving activities in accordance with established procedures, including material verification, documentation review, and discrepancy reporting.</li> <li style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif">Accurately record production activity on the Daily Shift Production Report, including production counts, packaging lots, ingredient lots, finished goods lots, location, and required comments.</li> <li style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif">Operate tote production controls, complete required documentation, and perform magnet cleaning procedures in accordance with established requirements.</li> <li style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif">Support bagging room operations during operator break periods and respond to metal detector alerts by verifying the rejected bag is removed from the line prior to restart.</li> <li style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif">Perform starch dumping activities using the correct starch and prevent bag fragments or knives from entering the hopper.</li> <li style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif">Follow the written trailer inspection process and execute the required loading pattern while ensuring damaged product is not loaded.</li> <li style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif">Verify lot codes and quantities on the bill of lading against received materials and document discrepancies.</li> <li style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif">Stage components in accordance with FIFO requirements.</li> <li style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif">Read and interpret the production board to confirm load completion and determine when to begin a new load.</li> <li style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif">Perform production line support duties, including product removal, shrink wrapping, pallet loading, and staging.</li> <li style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif">Use the computer labeling program to generate pallet flags, tote production records, and receiving flags.</li> <li style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif">Support other assigned operational duties as needed.</li> <li style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif">Maintain compliance with established operational, quality, food safety, and workplace safety procedures while performing assigned tasks.</li> </ul> WORK EXPERIENCE <ul style="list-style-type:disc" type="disc"> <li style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif">1-2 years in an industrial manufacturing environment required</li> <li style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif">Prior forklift or tow motor experience preferred</li> <li style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif">The ability to be certified is required</li> <li style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif">Proven ability to successfully meet customer and management deadlines</li> </ul> EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS <ul style="list-style-type:disc" type="disc"> <li style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif">High school diploma or general education degree (GED); equivalent experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.</li> </ul> ESSENTIAL CAPABILITIES (KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES AND PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES) <ul style="list-style-type:disc" type="disc"> <li style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif">The employee must regularly lift and /or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.</li> <li style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif">Specific vision abilities required by this job include Close vision, Distance vision, Peripheral vision, Depth perception and the Ability to adjust focus.</li> <li style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif">While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and talk or hear.</li> <li style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif">Strong organizational, verbal, and written communication skills.</li> </ul> LOCATION <ul style="list-style-type:disc"> <li style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif">Nashville, TN</li> </ul> We are an equal opportunity employer.
