Job Description: The Iowa State University Athletics Department is now accepting applications for a post‑graduate Associate position supporting the Student‑Athlete Development and Letterwinner Engagement units. Designed similarly to a post‑grad internship, this role offers meaningful exposure to the professional landscape of collegiate athletics through a progressive, hands‑on learning experience.

We are seeking hardworking, responsible, and motivated candidates interested in contributing to student‑athlete growth and alumni engagement. The Associate will assist in the planning, implementation, and evaluation of programs that promote holistic student‑athlete development and strengthen connections with Cyclone letterwinners, while operating in full compliance with NCAA, Big 12, and university policies.

What you’ll do

• Assist in the daily operations, programming and initiatives that fall within the Student-Athlete Development pillars: Connection, Character Enhancement, Civic Engagement, and Career Readiness • Co-teach a course for incoming freshman to support the transition to Iowa State and the student-athlete experience • Assist with coordinating community service and impact programming • Support the evaluation, development, and enhancement of programs designed to increase engagement with current student-athletes • Help foster an environment that supports the welfare, personal development, and academic success of student-athletes • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with student-athletes, colleagues, university staff and administrators, alumni, and external partners • Maintain accurate data to support the sustainability and growth of the athletic alumni database • Assist with the planning and execution of reunions and events

Term Appointment: July 2026 - May 2027 Hourly pay rate is $15.45 plus overtime eligible; receives paid time off leave; full benefits package. Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. on an on-going basis without sponsorship. Immigration sponsorship is not available for this position.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience supporting student-athlete or student development programming. • Experience assisting with instruction or facilitation of courses, workshops, or transition programs. • Knowledge of the student-athlete experience. • Experience in event coordination. • Experience working with donors, alumni or hospitality services.
