About this role
The Data Science Manager is a member of CEE Data Solutions team based in Warsaw. As a Data Science Manager, you will be accountable for leading the design, implementation and development of analytics tools and reports used for Visa's external clients. In this role, you will collaborate with Global Analytics, Business, and Technology teams across the organization to implement best-in-class services to drive business performance with a clear commercial ‘value’ and measurable ‘return’.
Principal Responsibilities
Designing, developing and implementing analytical solutions for external partnersRegular and bespoke data analysis to provide insights on the performance and highlighting opportunities for growthCreate and deliver powerful business-centric insights from data through better visualization and storyboardingCollaborating with the internal and external partners to fully understand business requirements and desired business outcomesEnhancing existing analytic techniques by promoting new methodology and best practices in analytics fieldProviding subject matter expertise and quality assurance of complex data driven analytic projectsDefining detailed analytic scope and methodology, and creating analytic planThis is a hybrid position. This requires 3 days per week (Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays) attendance in the Warsaw office.
Professional Experience:
Minimum of 5 years of analytics expertise in applying statistical solutions to business problemsGraduate/Post Graduate degree in Quantitative field such as Statistics, Mathematics, Operational Research, Computer Science, Economics, or engineering or equivalent experienceUnderstanding of Payments and Banking IndustryGood understanding of data, market intelligence, business intelligenceDemonstrated ability to incorporate new techniques to solve business problemsDemonstrated resource planning and delivery skills
Technical Expertise:
Fluency in Python (for Data Science) and SQL is mandatoryGood understanding of Big Data tools (Hadoop, Spark, Hive)Experience in building statistical models and doing statistical analysisHands on experience on processing extremely large data sets. Knowledge of payment network transactional data is a plusAbility to solve business problems through data driven quantitative methodologiesDefine and design analytic approaches to business problemsFluency in English

Results oriented with strong analytical, consultative and problem-solving skills, with demonstrated intellectual and analytical rigorGood business acumen with strong ability to solve business problems through data driven quantitative methodologies. Experience in payment, retail banking, or retail merchant industries is preferredTeam oriented, collaborative, diplomatic, and flexible style, with the ability to tailor data driven results to various audience levelsExcellent interpersonal skills to work collaboratively across functions and geographies in a matrix environmentProven skills in translating analytics output to actionable recommendations, and deliveryExperience in presenting ideas and analysis to stakeholdersExhibit intellectual curiosity and strive to continually learn.
