Job Description Summary Job Description _ Procurement Specialist Manage the procurement of Hydro Mechanical Components including Heavy Welded Structure / Castings & Forgings / Carbon & Stainless Steel Plates / Standard Hardware’s, Fasteners & Off Shelve Items as per the Drawing & Specification according to Sourcing Rules & Regulations by supporting the supplier with his/her technical knowledge in liaise with all internal stake holders (Engineering, projects, quality & Buyer) and make sure the delivery of component right first time and on time.
Job Description Roles and Responsibilities
• Build a strong GEV-Supplier business relationship with Integrity & Compliance. • Should ensure the Timely Delivery of component with Right Quality first time. • Should participate in all the Technical Alignment meeting which arrange by the Buyer to provide the inputs about supplier and Feedback of experience (FOE’s). • Get PO Acknowledgement from supplier and Organize Kick Off Meeting along with all relevant departments (Supplier, Engineering, Supplier Quality, Project Quality, Project) to ensure all the points are closed and all team including supplier are fully aligned on the engineering & project requirements. • Setup regular rhythm with supplier to ensure the manufacturing/supply of components are as on track according to PO Delivery Date and if there is any roadblocks which to be escalated immediately to all concern and ensure to get the mitigation plan from the supplier. • Should ensure to get the updated schedule from supplier and communicate to the project team regularly • Should ensure supplier follow the Manufacturing Process Plan and Inspection Test Plan. • Should attend all the relevant internal team meetings and ensure to provide necessary feedbacks. • Collaborate with team to provide and get support and to ensure always the team wins • Active participation in RCA on any Non Conformity which lead by supplier quality and ensure to get the amount from supplier on all identified Vendor Bill Back.
Required Qualifications and Experience
• B.E / B.Tech degree in Mechanical or other relevant streams • Minimum 8-12 years of experience in the relevant purchasing of heavy fabrication/welded components
Desired Characteristics
• Strong oral and written communication skills in English. • Knowledge in Welding & NDT both European Norms (EN) & ASME. SAP/PMx knowledge. • Travel as and when need to support project needs. • Experience in AutoCAD & MS Office.
