The role
As a Patient Administrator within the Dental School, you’ll play a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth running of our clinical operations. This is a dynamic position where you will:
Coordinate and manage student-patient appointments, including scheduling, handling cancellations, and maintaining accurate waiting lists. Prepare and format essential clinical documentation, such as letters and discharge summaries, ensuring accuracy and compliance with standards. Lead and support the patient administration team, providing guidance, supervision, and fostering a collaborative environment to deliver exceptional service.
What will you be doing?
Be responsible for the patient appointment ‘lifecycle’, from registering referrals on the patient administration system, to booking appointments and managing the student patient waiting list following local booking rules and procedures. Be the first point of contact for patients, students, nurses, clinical and other administrative staff in relation to the coordination of clinics, management of waiting lists and booking of patients. To format / type letters to referring dental practitioners & format discharge summaries. To supervise the patient admin team, supporting the management as and when required. To approve clinical leave To take part in meetings that require minute taking and type / circulate minutes
You should apply if
You are a well-organised, enthusiastic individual with excellent communication skills. You are adaptable and able to deliver high quality, efficient and effective clinical administrative support. You have strong computer skills; email communications, Microsoft packages (full training will be given on specific systems)

Contract type: Fixed Term Contract until 24/10/2026
Work pattern: Full time / 35 hours
