The Role: Research Associate I
• Entegris is seeking a Staff Research Associate to assist in the completion of scientific experiments on chemical-based products used for chemical-mechanical planarization (CMP) applications. This role will perform lab-based polishing experiments, product reliability and characterization tests, operation of lab instrumentation, data collection/summarization/analysis, and maintenance of the laboratory.
In this role you will:
• Small-scale polishing experiments to assess product performance and reproducibility
• Participate in lab test method development and running of laboratory tests for characterizing CMP slurries
• Plan and execute experiments to understand slurry behavior such as; colloidal stability, shelf stability, and pot-life stability
• Perform preliminary interpretation of data, recognizing and correcting test abnormalities, and present results to the team
• Prepare slurry samples and coordinate production for polishing experiments with the pilot plant
• Uphold and follow strict laboratory safety requirements and policies
• Maintain and control inventory of chemicals used for experimental products
• Collaborate with colleagues in the maintenance and upkeep of laboratory tools and instruments
Traits we believe make a strong candidate:
• Graduate high school/Associate Degree : Chemistry, Biology, Biochemistry, Material Science, or Engineering Technology.
• Hands-on experience with wet chemistry techniques and instrumentation used in chemistry laboratories.
• Demonstrated ability to plan experiments, analyze experimental data using statistical techniques and solve problems.
• Communicates effectively in a candid and professional manner.
• Knowledge of MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, Powerpoint).
• Good personality and positive attitude
