Job Description: Job Summary: The Electromechanical Field Service Technician will be responsible for wiring equipment, troubleshooting equipment, client start-up and assist with installation and maintenance of the electrical wiring, fixtures and systems. Domestic and International travel is expected to be approximately 30-60%, with an average on site project duration of less than a week. Primary Duties/Responsibilities:
• Wiring equipment, checking/verifying electrical connections, and power up • Ordering & managing electrical components for equipment • Managing & completing electrical engineering change orders before equipment ship date • Coordinating with production to schedule wiring equipment • To start-up equipment in the shop for checks (Quality & Safety) and have overall check-out responsibility with respect to equipment readiness, ensuring that materials are organized • Customer start-up support and troubleshooting electrical controls • Training on equipment, operator training, mechanical /electrical maintenance training, and troubleshooting training • To be technically proficient in machinery from an electrical and mechanical standpoint • To proactively ensure that mechanical/electrical skill level is sufficient to start-up and troubleshoot equipment with limited support from engineering • To maintain and grow relationships with customers and conduct yourself in a professional manner • To be available for travel to customer's site on a moment’s notice
Secondary Duties/Responsibilities:
• Coordinate and be point of contact for contractors on internal electrical related projects • Installs and repairs electrical wiring, systems, and fixtures in buildings • Installs conduits and pipes to house electrical wires and cables • Ensures piping complies with electrical codes • Installs circuit breakers and other electrical hardware and connects wiring to them • Tests electrical systems to ensure proper installation and operation • Inspects electrical systems to determine whether repairs are needed • Replaces conduit and wiring as needed • Replaces circuit breakers as needed • Performs other related duties as assigned Required Skills/Abilities:
• Ability to read and comprehend electrical and mechanical layouts & prints • Extensive knowledge of electrical systems and wiring • Ability to use hand tools and power tools • Proficient computer skills (Outlook, Excel, Word, Expense Reports, etc.) • Proficient in the use of test meters and other diagnostic equipment • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills • Willingness & ability to travel domestically or internationally 30-60% of the year • Strong written and communication skills • Ability to work independently Education and Experience:
• High school diploma or equivalent required • Completion of Electromechanical Technology program preferred Physical Requirements:
• Must be able to see color to discern color-coded wiring • Prolonged periods standing, kneeling, bending, and climbing ladders or scaffolding • Must be physically capable of pulling wires and cables through conduits • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at a time
