Job Description: Summary: The Electrical Control Systems Engineer is responsible for developing the technical deliverables required for industrial control systems. This position is responsible for the development of control schematics, control and I/O panels, control system narrative, PLC and HMI programming, as well as field start-up commissioning. This position is responsible for the overall control system engineering.
This position is responsible for:
• Know and understand the scope of work, design criteria, and project standards • Responsible for completing technical portions of a project, and specific design tasks • Responsible for preparing control system design documents including schematics, I/O lists, panel designs, control narratives, programs and commissioning plans • Interface with the customer and Apache project engineer to obtain necessary information in a timely manner • Proactively communicate any concerns, problems, or technical decisions that impact the project to the customer and Project Engineer • Design of electrical control panels using SolidWorks Electrical • Modifying and updating of AutoCAD drawings from past projects • Review electrical drawings for proper wiring requirements, best layout and component usage • Programming PLC and HMI, using project-selected software (Studio 5000, FactoryTalk, CCW, RS500, Plant PAX, Ignition) • Loading programs and configuring control components, then testing the controls to verify proper operation of equipment • Creating operator manuals and documentation for the control system • Startup testing of equipment at the customer’s facility, possible travel up to 20% • Customer support of controls equipment • Maintain a positive work atmosphere by acting and communicating in a manner so that you get along with clients, co-workers and management Skills and Abilities:

• Strong written and verbal communication skills • General understanding of all engineering disciplines • Able to identify and analyze problems and identify solutions • Strong understanding of electrical engineering practices and processes • Experience in instrumentation and control systems • Experience in the design of industrial control and I/O panels • Experience developing control system equipment specifications and selecting equipment • Experience in the design of communication networks • Experience developing control system narratives and descriptions • Experience developing PLC programs from start to finish • Experience developing HMI applications from start to finish • Experience in food processing • Experience with planning and executing Factory and Software Acceptance testing • Experience with on-site commissioning, including hardware set-up, instrument calibration, electrical circuit troubleshooting, and network set-up
Experience and Qualifications:
• Bachelors of Science in Electrical Engineering or Electro Mechanical Technician • 3-5 year’s experience • Computer proficiency. • Experience working with manufacturing based technology, processes and principles is preferred
