WHAT YOU’LL DO
The Entertainment AV Technician assists with the technical and operational elements of Rio Las Vegas. The Entertainment AV Tech is responsible for the overall production value of the lounges, stages, and other event spaces to ensure successful production.
ROLE EXPECTATIONS
• Assist in technical operations of the AV department in all entertainment outlets.
• Independently set, mix, and strike live bands, DJ’s, loopers and other entertainment property wide.
• Troubleshoot electrical, audio, video equipment, malfunctions and resolve in a timely manner.
• Certified in scissor lift, boom lift, & Genie lift with the ability to perform work at great heights safely.
• Complete installations, routine maintenance and repairs to ensure show quality and positive guest experience. Ensures safety of self, guests, and other Team Members by taking proper safety precautions, following both state and company specific standards.
• Provide installation assistance for any special events, ensuring proper installation from a safety and design perspective.
• Assist with daily maintenance of the Rio Entertainment A/V equipment to ensure all technical equipment is operational and functioning properly.
• Assist in implementing show quality and performance standards as defined by the Technical Manager.
• Responsible for effectively communicating necessary information pertaining to the technical operation to the Technical Manager.
• Maintain an advanced working knowledge of Audio/Visual systems, staying up to date with industry standards, tools, and technologies to find more efficient ways to operate. Complete all company mandated training in a timely manner.
• Understand Health & Safety responsibilities by following established OSHA policies and procedures.
• Must be able to set up and mix sound to live bands.
• Make recommendations to improve room sound and production.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
• This position does not have supervisory responsibilities.
REQUIREMENTS
• Must be at least 21 years old.
• High School Diploma or GED equivalency.
• Experience in audio and/or lighting work in clubs, arenas, recording studios, etc
• 5 (five) years of experience in setup of sound, lighting and audio/visual systems
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to effectively communicate in English.
• Basic computer skills with Microsoft Office and Outlook
• Ability to obtain & maintain full knowledge and understanding of company and department rules and regulations, policies and procedures.
• Ability to work with other employees, guests, and management to establish and maintain effecting working relationships.
• Must be willing and able to work a flexible schedule to include nights, holidays, and weekends
• Work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment while managing multiple priorities and deadlines.
• Demonstrate reliability through consistent attendance, adaptability to changing business needs, and participation in required meetings and training sessions
CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
• Must qualify for, obtain and maintain any necessary licenses including but not limited to OSHA 30.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
• The ability to climb stairs, standing for long periods of time, requires substantial walking, bending, lifting, and working in a smoke-filled environment.
WORKING CONDITIONS
• Must be able to work in high places and outdoor events
