Job Responsibilities As an Assistant Vice President, Wealth Management Operations, your key responsibilities will include:
• Supporting Investment Funds under Hong Kong Wealth Management Operations (WMO) to ensure proper processing/reporting within predefined cutoff times and timely escalation of irregular cases. • Ensuring daily operations comply with external/regulatory and internal requirements, as well as the bank’s risk management standards. • Leading and implementing various change initiatives and projects related to system and processing procedures, considering operational flows, markets, upcoming regulations, and control requirements. • Liaising with business partners on user requirements, participating in and monitoring User Acceptance Testing (UAT) status to meet project timelines, and providing constant updates on project progress. • Working with senior business stakeholders to review Wealth Management Operations related service concerns, system, and service levels. • Conducting detailed root cause analysis for operational flows and incidents with a strong analytical and logical mindset to deliver end-to-end processes. • Regularly reviewing and updating Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to ensure compliance with internal and external guidelines/regulations. • Managing the team to meet Management (MTK) targets and overseeing people management and development of team members. • Collaborating with business partners on New Product Approval (NPA) for new product/service implementation. • Managing daily operations for Investment Funds to ensure correct order placement, settlement, and corporate actions without delay. • Monitoring task completeness by end of day for the team. • Managing funding with fund houses and nostro banks, including order settlement and dividend payment. • Performing daily and monthly reconciliation of General Ledger account balances. • Investigating and resolving exceptions or breaks. • Regularly reviewing workflows to drive process improvement. • Ensuring Operational Manuals are up to date. • Managing the team to meet predefined productivity and KPI targets. • Participating in Investment Funds or system-related projects, UAT, and ad-hoc assignments as appropriate.
Job Requirements To be successful in this role, you should possess:
• University degree holder in Banking and Finance or related disciplines. • At least 3-5 years of hands-on experience in Investment Funds processing, order, settlement, and relevant operational support. • Excellent knowledge of Investment Products, especially Investment Funds. • Knowledge of regulatory requirements for investment product orders and settlements, understanding of accounting concepts, and process re-engineering. • Strong awareness of operational risks and controls mindset with strong market operation knowledge. • Effective interpersonal and communication skills with great team spirit to work with various key stakeholders. • Excellent problem-solving and organizing skills. • Proactive and innovative thinking, with the ability to suggest new ideas to improve daily processes. • Experience in Private Banking is preferable, and a digital mindset and experience in Avaloq would be an advantage. • A team player capable of guiding junior team members, providing cross-training, and meeting daily Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
