About this role
A leading company in the field of sports betting is currently building a central Data Science team in Vienna. For this exciting development, a dedicated individual is sought as a Data Engineer to help shape the technological foundation for data-driven decision-making.
Your responsibilities: * Analysis and preparation of data from upstream systems * Modeling and implementation of scalable ELT/ETL processes (batch and streaming) * Acting as an interface between Data Analysts and Data Scientists * Data enrichment and loading into a Big Data environment (Apache Hadoop on Cloudera)
Your profile: * Technical education in Computer Science (e.g. technical college, university studies, Data Science) * Experience in data modeling - both with relational databases and Apache Hadoop * Sound knowledge of the following technologies: ** SQL (MS SQL Server) ** Apache Hadoop ecosystem (Kafka, NiFi, Flink) ** Programming skills in Scala and/or Java, Python ** Experience with Linux systems * Interest in working with high-frequency data in a near real-time environment
