The Graduate Student will contribute to ongoing cancer research projects under the direct supervision of the Principal Investigator (PI) and senior laboratory personnel. This training role focuses on developing foundational technical skills, learning advanced scientific methodologies, and executing defined experimental protocols. The candidate will work closely with a mentor to generate reliable data, participate in collaborative lab discussions, and gain a deeper understanding of cancer biology within a supportive academic environment. Key Responsibilities Perform routine and specialized laboratory procedures (e.g., maintaining cell lines, preparing reagents, running PCR, or assisting with assays) following strictly established protocols and under direct supervision. Accurately record experimental steps, observations, and raw data in a timely manner within the laboratory notebook. Assist senior staff in organizing data for analysis. Regularly attend and participate in laboratory meetings, journal clubs, and seminars to learn about ongoing projects and discuss research findings with the team. Share responsibility for daily lab maintenance, including preparing common buffers, autoclaving supplies, restocking inventory, and adhering to strict institutional biosafety guidelines. Master new laboratory techniques as directed by the PI or designated post-doctoral mentor, progressing from assisted execution to supervised task completion.

For union positions, the pay range is determined by the Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA).
