Human Resource Specialist (Asia)Position summary: The Human Resources Specialist (Asia) is responsible for providing support to the Director of Legal Talent & Human Resources and HR Manager(s) for the Asia region. Specific duties include, but are not limited to, the following:
Position responsibilities:
• Manage Asia business professional open positions in Workday and conduct interviews for assigned positions (below manager level)
• Working closely with HR Managers and the US-based Senior HR Advisor to draft new job descriptions, update existing and market-aligned job descriptions, and create and maintain the Asia job description index.
• Manage the review of recruiter contracts and maintain all region-specific recruiter agreement
• Manage offer process, including providing post-interview feedback, presenting approved offers prepared by the HR Manager to the candidate
• Working closely with HR Coordinator, oversee to ensure the process of uploading all new hire paperwork to the Workday system in a timely manner
• In collaboration with local DOAs and HR Coordinator, schedule orientation session for all new hires, maintain standardized approach for all new hire orientation schedules
• Help to draft and edit Asia policies and procedures, working closely with US and Asia based HR to update policy portal; serve as primary resource to employee regarding policy related questions
• Support HR team to conduct/collect exit interview data and analyze results
• Assist HR management with gathering regional salary data, helping HR Manager to complete salary surveys and analyze results compared to incumbent data
• Assist in tracking annual evaluations, ensuring that all completed evaluations are signed and returned
• Assist in creating and updating training materials/PowerPoint presentations/videos needed by HR
• Assist with completed training data in Workday or LMS as needed. Report on this data in the case of required training initiatives
• Under HR Managers’ supervision, assist with Leave of Absence administration in the Asia offices
• Point of contact for employee HR questions, routing questions as necessary if additional information is needed
• Assist Director of Legal Talent and Human Resources with special projects as assigned or required
• All other duties as assigned or required
Skills and experience: Required:
• After orientation at Cooley LLP, exhibit proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite, iManage and other firm applications
• Available to work overtime, as required
• 4+ years HR-related experience
• Fluency in Cantonese and/or Mandarin
Preferred:
• Bachelor’s Degree
• Prior law firm experience
• HRIS experience
