About this role
Responsibilities:
• Aid pipefitters in the layout, assembly, and installation of piping systems, ensuring adherence to project specifications and blueprints. • Measure, cut, thread, and bend pipes to required angles using hand and power tools, preparing materials for installation. • Assist with the installation of pipe systems, supports, fixtures, and equipment for various piping systems such as water, gas, and steam. • Inspect and test installed systems to identify leaks and other issues, making necessary adjustments and repairs as needed. • Adhere to all safety regulations and protocols, ensuring a safe work environment by wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and participating in safety meetings. • Maintain tools and equipment in good working condition, ensuring they are cleaned, stored properly, and available for use when needed. • Help maintain accurate records of work performed, materials used, and any issues encountered during the project. • Identify and resolve issues that may arise during the project, providing practical solutions to maintain project timelines and quality standards. • Assist in training and mentoring less experienced helpers, promoting skill development and adherence to best practices within the pipefitting trade.
Education Requirements/Qualifications:
• Minimum of 2-3 years of experience as a pipefitter helper or in a similar role, with a strong understanding of pipefitting techniques and practices. • High school diploma or equivalent; completion of relevant vocational training or an apprenticeship program is preferred.
Job Requirements/Special Skills:
• Proficient in using hand and power tools related to pipefitting. • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings. • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail. • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities. • Ability to work in conditions of varying heat and cold where noise levels are at or above 90 decibels
