Annual Salary: $81,579.77 - $83,921.38 Department: General Government, Information Systems Division: PC Support FLSA: Exempt Job Description: In this role, you will provide management and support to the City’s personal computer hardware and software systems.
Examples of Duties:
• Manages PC Support group staff to effectively install and support all end user information technology resources. • Manages and coordinates work orders and service orders with the Help Desk. • Manages response procedures and schedules maintenance programs pertaining to personal computers and peripheral equipment. • Trains and orients employees to PC equipment and software. Coordinates training and orientation for new technology users and helps them become familiar with equipment and networks. • Interacts with software vendors, and makes software recommendations to the City. • Maintains City PC Software and PC Hardware Inventory Databases. • Responsible for troubleshooting operating systems, software configurations, monitoring pc performance, researching enhancements, and loading new software. • Manages and coordinates the installation of all hardware to include PCs, printers, scanners, monitors and other peripheral components. • Manages and coordinates the installation of all software packages such as operating systems and applications. • Responds to client inquiries concerning systems operation and diagnoses system hardware, software, and operator problems. • Coordinates activities between the Help Desk, network services, or other Information Technology department groups. • Has a thorough understanding of available personal computing and printing technology and researches to learn about innovative solutions and new releases. • Performs other duties as assigned.
Basic Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s Degree (BA/BS) or equivalent in computer science, programming or related field; and 4 years of related experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. • Valid driver’s license. • Thorough knowledge of Microsoft Office or similar software. • Reasonable knowledge of software for: databases, design, development, and Internet use.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience with Adobe Software (Acrobat Pro, Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Premiere), Windows Operation Systems Certifications, Windows Applications, Certifications, experience with Dell, PC, HW and HP Printers
Other Necessary Requirements:
• May require evenings, weekends, and holidays as scheduled. • In the event of major storms or other emergency situations, this position may be subject to 24-hour shifts or any other emergency schedule that is necessary to meet the City’s needs.
