Faculty

Home to four specialist schools – Leicester School of Allied Health Sciences, School of Applied Social Sciences, Leicester School of Nursing and Midwifery, and the Leicester School of Pharmacy, the Faculty of Health and Life Sciences educates and develops professionals who make a significant difference to lives, health, wellbeing, communities and society. The Leicester School of Pharmacy has a range of undergraduate and postgraduate taught programmes, including the highly regarded MPharm. Teaching reflects the latest developments in the sector and many courses have professional accreditations. A range of work experience and volunteering opportunities enable students to develop the skills required by graduate employers.

The role

You will join an enthusiastic team working in modern teaching and research facilities. The role is full time and is based in Leicester, UK. You will be expected to make a full contribution to teaching and assessment of pharmaceutical chemistry, at Level 3 and undergraduate level, across our programmes including the Pharmacy with Preparatory year (MPharm). You may also be asked to support post-graduate teaching in the Leicester School of Pharmacy. You will have the opportunity to contribute to the School’s research profile.

Ideal Candidate

You will have a BSc (Hons) in Chemistry or Pharmaceutical Science and a PhD in Pharmaceutical Science or a Pharmacy related field. You will bring experience in teaching and assessing within higher education and demonstrate the ability to contribute to research aligned with the School’s strategic priorities. Essential qualities include strong interpersonal and communication skills, self-motivation, and the ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team. You will also demonstrate a clear commitment to academic citizenship, actively contributing to the wider academic community. A recognised teaching qualification is desirable, although not essential.
