About this role

We are seeking to appoint a Research Assistant to join the School of Computing Science. The successful candidate will contribute to a project “VISDOM-AI: Video-based Infantile epileptic Spasms Detection from bOdy Movements using AI” working with Dr. Edmond S. L. Ho.

This is an Interdisciplinary project with project partners from different sectors, including Health Informatics Centre (HIC) at the University of Dundee for providing a secure cloud computing platform and clinical researchers from NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde. Specifically, you will be contributing to clinically assessing and annotating videos with infant body movements. Proper labelling and classification of medical events in videos (e.g., epileptic vs. non-epileptic seizures) is required to avoid misinterpretation, which could facilitate downstream analyses or models trained on the data. Our Co-Is will provide training in the early stages of the project. The successful candidate will also be expected to contribute to the formulation and submission of research publications as well as help manage and direct this complex and challenging project as opportunities allow.

For informal discussions about the role, please contact Dr. Edmond S. L. Ho. ([email protected])
