About this role
The Department of Cell and Developmental Biology is a vibrant, interdisciplinary environment for cutting-edge research. We are an interactive and highly collaborative department, with a strong graduate student association, outstanding core facilities, a top- ranked developmental biology program, and exceptionally strong faculty. The Weaver laboratory performs state-of-the-art research in the fields of extracellular vesicles, cancer, cell motility, cytoskeleton, membrane trafficking, and cancer metastasis. We use cell biological, biochemical, molecular, whole animal, and bioinformatic approaches to understand the fundamental functions of extracellular vesicles in normal health and disease and how alterations in basic cellular processes lead to cancer invasiveness and metastasis. We have a vibrant group that is dedicated to making fundamental biological discoveries. Many previous technicians have gone on to graduate school.
