About this role

Arts University Plymouth is seeking to appoint a Lecturer (Film & Screen Arts) to join our BA (Hons) Film & Screen Arts course. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to an ambitious and collaborative team committed to delivering high quality learning and teaching and outstanding student experiences.

About You:

You will be an enthusiastic educator and practitioner with a strong grounding in film, screen arts, and contemporary creative industries. You will bring:

A BA (Hons) and MA in a relevant discipline (e.g. moving image, media, film production). A fully recognised teaching qualification Proven teaching experience in Higher Education, including assessment and pastoral support. Strong subject knowledge across filmmaking, film aesthetics, screen technologies, and contextual/theoretical frameworks. Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and support diverse learners.

About The Role:

In this role, you will:

Teach, assess, and provide academic support to undergraduate students, and contribute to postgraduate delivery where required. Act as Unit Leader for designated units, managing all aspects of planning, resourcing, delivery, formative review, and assessment. Support academic planning, curriculum development, and the Annual Monitoring Review process alongside the Course Leader. Contribute to an inclusive, interdisciplinary learning environment and support cross-disciplinary collaboration. Attend Course Team meetings, Student Feedback meetings, and Assessment Boards as required. Actively participate in student recruitment, including Open Days, interviews, school/college visits, and outreach events.
