We have an exciting career opportunity for a Component Engineer working in our DMSMS Group located in Poway, CA. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Perform Lifecycle Management Engineering activities for Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS). Candidate will focus on systems affected by Diminishing Manufacturing Sources and Material Shortages (DMSMS) issues and assist in activities to ensure a solution is in place before production or sustainment is impacted. As part of the DMSMS team, the Component Engineer – DMSMS duties and responsibilities include: Being the Point-of-Contact (POC) for Companywide end-of-life (EOL) notifications and issues, performing platform/program impact analysis and evaluating and coordinating bridge/last time buys. Interfacing with Integrated Project Teams (IPTs), Project Engineers and Program Management across multiple platforms. Interfacing with Functional Engineering and component suppliers on technical, supply and procurement topics. Gathering data and information from multiple sources and records and maintains records and files in various systems. Performing impact assessments due to DMSMS/obsolescence issues and presenting information at internal and customer working group meetings. Creating Customer Deliverable Requirements List (CDRL) reports. Supporting Procurement and Subcontracts to resolve part shortage and obsolescence issues. Supporting BOM reviews for part lifecycle risk management as required. Providing support with component/supplier selection, analysis and documentation to meet technical requirements posed by design teams during concept and development for both Electrical and Mechanical parts. Creating and maintaining part specifications and assisting to maintain the parts database. Researching market/technology trends of suppliers and devices.
