About this role

Cloud Data Engineer II As the Cloud Data Engineer II , you will support the design and delivery of scalable, governed data solutions that power enterprise analytics and business insights. In this role, you’ll build and optimize data pipelines using Python, Java, and GCP technologies while also contributing to user-facing data tools using React or modern UX development practices. Day-to-day, you’ll partner with data engineers, analysts, and governance teams to enable trusted data assets and intuitive user experiences. Successful candidates are detail-oriented, collaborative, and excited to grow across data engineering, APIs, and front-end development. This role is hybrid, which means you will be required to work on site Monday through Thursday at the Best Buy corporate office in Richfield, Minnesota. You can work virtually from home or another non-Best Buy location on Friday. The recruiter or hiring manager will provide more details during the hiring process. What you’ll do Build and maintain scalable data pipelines for enterprise data platforms Develop and integrate RESTful APIs to enable data access and services Develop and enhance user interfaces using React or modern UX frameworks Implement data ingestion, transformation, and integration using GCP tools Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize data workflows, APIs, and performance Basic qualifications 2 years of relevant experience with a Bachelor's degree OR equivalent relevant professional experience 2+ years of experience with programming languages such as Python, Java, or similar 2+ years of experience with cloud platforms (e.g., Google Cloud Platform) or distributed data systems 2+ years of experience designing and working with RESTful APIs and React or modern UX frameworks Preferred qualifications Experience with GCP tools such as BigQuery, Dataflow, Cloud Storage, or Cloud Function Familiarity with API design, integration, and microservices architecture Experience with SQL and enterprise data warehouse concepts Exposure to data governance, metadata, and data quality framework Strong problem-solving and communication skills What’s in it for you We’re committed to helping our people thrive at work and at home.
