Summary Job Description: Anesthesia Technician-Operating Room Surgical Services I Lexington Full-Time I Second Shift
Baptist Health Lexington Surgical Services Department encompasses several key areas: the Pre-Op Department, 20 operating rooms with a business office staff responsible for scheduling, a Postoperative Care Unit, an Endoscopy Department with dedicated pre- and post-op areas, and a Sterile Processing Department. Description Anesthesia Technician Operating Room:
• Assesses patient specific needs preoperatively i.e., resistant organisms, latex allergy, age specific and communicates with the surgical services team members regarding relevant patient and procedure data. • Communication and Teamwork. • Meets with anesthesiologists to identify needs of the department. • Meets with vendors to identify equipment /supplies needed for the department. • Assists in capital budget process. § Communicates with the Sterile Processing Department (SPD) regarding necessary changes, supplies/instrumentation needs. • Communicates conflicts in the OR schedule to the Chief Anesthesiologist/designee. • Coordinates special procedures with SPD. § Instructs staff regarding proper usage of and handling of anesthesia equipment. • Assists with staff Scheduling/coordinates coverage. • Demonstration of leadership. • Customer relations and healing environment. • Ensures positive customer relations through caring behaviors. • Uses sensitivity in managing difficult or emotional situations. • Previous experience as an Anesthesia Technician., preferred not required.
Requirements Anesthesia Technician Operating Room:
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required. If not already certified, applicants must obtain BLS within 30 days of their hire date. • High School Diploma or Equivalent. Benefits:
