Assistant SENCO - Permanent

37 hours per week, 39 weeks per year (term time plus inset days)

Grade 8

Actual salary - £30,556 - £33,783

An excellent opportunity has arisen for a highly skilled and effective SEND specialist to join Sir William Stanier School as an Assistant SENCO. The successful candidate will have significant experience of workingwith children and young people with SEND, ideally within a school or similar setting, and will have experience of using assessment and screening tools to identify appropriate support strategies.

In this role you will:

Make a meaningful difference to the lives of students with SEND, ensuring they are supported to achieve their full potential Support the SENCO and staff in embedding adaptive teaching as a core element of high-quality classroom practice Effectively support the deployment of Teaching Assistants and resources to meet the needs of students across the SEND provision Develop strong, positive relationships with families and carers of students with SEND Monitor, implement and evaluate strategies to improve outcomes for SEND students Contribute to the early identification and assessment of students with SEND, including supporting exam access arrangements Support the development and delivery of targeted intervention programmes Work with students and families to develop SEN Support Plans and contribute to statutory processes where required Work collaboratively with the SENCO and wider team to ensure high-quality SEND provision across the school In return we offer
