Job summary
Ward One is a 30 bedded Trauma and Orthopaedic ward in Withybush General Hospital, Haverfordwest.
We are seeking a dynamic, motivated and innovative Nursing Support Worker to join our team on Ward One based at Withybush General Hospital. You will need to have an interest in trauma + Orthopaedics and be committed to deliver high standards of patient care.

Main duties of the job
The Unit requires Health Care Support Workers who are keen to learn and able to adopt a flexible approach to work. There is an opportunity to learn new skills and develop professionally within a positive and challenging environment.
You will ensure that patients / clients receive safe, individualised and effective standards of care by following care plans and treatment interventions as directed by the registered nurse and/or therapists.
You will always communicate effectively and in conjunction with other team members, contribute to and maintain the ward philosophy.
The rota involves a variety of shift patterns including day/night duty to suit service requirements.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.

Person Specification
Qualifications and Knowledge Essential
Level 3 qualification in a health care related subject Or Equivalent experience and can evidence work based competency demonstrating theoretical knowledge, and the ability to undertake clinical care duties relevant for the role which is gained through experience and worked based training/short courses Knowledge of the Code of Conduct for Healthcare Support Workers in Wales and All Wales Delegation Guidelines (HEIW). Knowledge of relevant policies and procedures within a healthcare setting for example the principles of Safeguarding adults/children to keep patients within their care safe, and confidentiality for example General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR).
Experience Essential
Experience of working within a relevant health or social care environment, providing direct patient care
Desirable
Experience of working with patient groups relevant to area of practice Experience of working within the NHS.
