With experience from the NHS and/or private sector, you will be responsible for managing a complex caseload using evidence-based and people-focused principles to assess, plan, implement and evaluate individual and group interventions which will support the service users to develop their skills in self maintenance, productivity and leisure. With a strong emphasis on teamwork, youll receive support from a regional network of healthcare professionals and enjoy access to a variety of online and CPD training courses to support you reach your career goals.

Main duties of the job As a Lead Occupational Therapist, you will participate fully with the multidisciplinary team and encourage the service users to be fully engaged in their care pathway. You will manage and coordinate the implementation of individual treatment plans for occupational therapy services, ensuring treatments, activities, and interventions are delivered effectively. The role involves ensuring the team maintains accurate records of each patient's rehabilitation progress and supporting clinical team working, including direct interventions and staff training. A key part of the role is receiving and responding to referrals, undertaking patient assessments, and delivering appropriate interventions. The aim is to develop living skills, rehabilitation, and educational opportunities for the service users.

As a Lead Occupational Therapist, you will be:

Participating fully with the multidisciplinary team and encourage the service users to be fully engaged in their care pathway Managing and co-ordinating the implementation of individual treatment plans for occupational therapy services ensuring treatments, activities and interventions are delivered through effective application and communication by the occupational therapists. Ensuring the team maintains accurate and timely records detailing each patient’s rehabilitation / progress. Ensuring the effective and efficient management of more junior staff. Supporting clinical team working, including both direct interventions and the delivery of staff training programmes Receiving and responding promptly to referrals, undertaking patient assessments to identify and prioritise patient needs before planning and delivering the appropriate and relevant interventions either on an individual or group basis. Working to develop living skills, rehabilitation, and educational opportunities/therapies. To be successful in this role, you will need:

To be qualified and registered as an Occupational Therapist At least 3 years post qualifying experience. Experience in assessing people with a variety of psychometrics and risk assessment tools To be able to work therapeutically, engaging people in developing insight and coping skills to manage their complex needs Experience in supervising and managing junior members of the team A full and clean UK driving licence Where you will be working:

Person Specification

Qualifications Essential

To be successful in this role, you need to be qualified and registered as an Occupational Therapist with at least 3 years post-qualifying experience. Experience in assessing people with various psychometrics and risk assessment tools is required. You should be able to work therapeutically, engaging people in developing insight and coping skills for managing complex needs. Experience in supervising and managing junior team members and holding a full and clean UK driving license is necessary.
