About this role
Job summary An opportunity has arisen to work in the catering main kitchen situated at our Musgrove Park Hospital site. The kitchen is operational 7 days a week 365 days a year, between 6.00am - 6.00pm. The candidate needs to be a team player who has a flexible approach. Shifts vary between 6.00am - 6.00pm and may include weekends and will some bank holidays.
Main duties of the job The post holder will pick and deliver patient meals to the ward and load the ward regen trollies with meals and any other provisions ordered. Answer telephone and complete relevant orders and communicate to the team or wider teams. To provide and maintain a safe, clean, tidy environment. Follow and record cleaning tasks on our electronic schedule. Assist with basic food preparation. Answer telephone and resolve general enquires. Set up trollies for functions and occasionally serve at functions.

Person Specification
Qualifications Essential
Basic Food Hygiene Level 2. A basic standard of Maths and English GCSE.
Desirable
NVQ Level1 or 2. FSA Allergen and Intolerance Training.
Experience Essential
Enjoys working as part of a team. Good knowledge of food safety & health & safety standards & a willingness to undertake additional training to maintain currency. Previous catering experience.
Desirable
Has worked in a healthcare environment in the same capacity. Knowledge of COSHH. Knowledge of HACCP.
