Job summary
We are seeking a compassionate, reflective, and recovery-focused Assistant Psychologist to support the delivery of evidence-based psychological interventions for individuals on the Adult Acute Inpatient Wards at Woodlands hospital Ipswich.
Preference will be given to candidates with a strong understanding of psychological models of therapy and recovery, particularly DBT approaches within inpatient settings. Confidence in facilitating therapeutic groups, knowledge and skills in collaboratively developing and disseminating psychological formulations, are essential attributes for the successful post holder.
Applicants should demonstrate an aptitude for psychological work with people experiencing mental health difficulties, including supporting those in crisis. The ability to be self-reflective and to engage thoughtfully with complex emotional experiences is important.
You will contribute to the team's work by providing psychological assessments, as well as individual and group interventions, under the supervision of a Clinical Psychologist. There will be opportunities to participate in service audits, service evaluation, and research projects within the ward environment.This post is ideally suited to those considering applying for the Doctorate in Clinical Psychology, there is a strong commitment from the supervising Clinical Psychologist to support applicants in their preparation for this.
