About this role

Job summary

We are looking for a part-time, friendly, patient focused and efficient person to join our Reception Team.

The hours will equate to 30 hours per week as below.

Monday & Tuesday: 1pm-7pm

Wednesday: 8am-2pm

Thursday & Friday: 1pm-7pm

The role will including receiving, assisting and directing patient enquiries in accessing the appropriate service or healthcare professional in a courteous, efficient and effective way.

Provide general assistance to the practice team and project a positive and friendly image to patients and other visitors, either in person or via the telephone.

Main duties of the job

The candidate should be well-organised, have an excellent telephone manner, ability to cope under pressure, good communication skills and computer literate. Preferably with experience of Emis Web but training can be provided

It is essential that the candidate have a caring approach, and a good listener! Be a team player and motivated to providing a caring and efficient service to our patients as part of a wider team.

We are a friendly medical practice based across 2 sites. The main site is St. Martin's Gate Surgery at Turnpike House, situated at the bottom of Newtown Road. We have a branch surgery which is located near to Tesco at St. Peters.

We aim to offer the highest level of medical care for the whole family. We have just over 14,000 patientsare free to choose which doctor they wish to see for their routine appointments.

We are part of the Worcester City Primary Care Network and have strong links with associated teams within this organisation.

Administration

To have a thorough knowledge of all practice procedures. To work in accordance of written protocols Patient navigation/Signposting to various services and PCN Hub Scanning documentsReception

Receiving patients Consulting with members of practice clinical teams Navigation of patients to correct services and triage appointments Be able to cover for annual leave/sickness when requiredAppointments

Process appointment requests for today future appointments from patients by telephone and in person. Deal with visits requestsComputer

Registrations of new patients computer data entry and medical records. Process patients change of address computer data and medical records (have knowledge of practice area).Telephone

Have working knowledge of our new cloud telephony telephone system (training given).Other Tasks

Maintain a Clear desk policy and adhere to practice policies Ensure building security have thorough knowledge of doors/windows/alarm. Any other tasks allocated by managersConfidentiality:

Person Specification

Experience Essential

Customer service experience and the ability to work in a high pressure environment

Desirable

Experience of Emis Web, Experience of patient triage and navigation to services, Experience of working in a GP practice

Qualifications Essential

Good level of education Reception/customer facing skills/experience Experience of working in a busy environment Ability to multi task and prioritise own workload Experience of working within a team

Worked in General Practice Experience of using Emis Web
