Salary - Scale F, £16,956.80 - £21,715.40 actual pa Permanent Part Time 35 hours per week Term Time plus 1 week Required for 1 September 2026
A school office administrator provides essential clerical, reception, and organisational support to ensure smooth daily school operations, acting as a key liaison between staff, parents, and pupils. Responsibilities include managing front-desk enquiries, maintaining computerised pupil databases (Arbor), attendance tracking, updating website and supporting staff with administrative tasks. Hours of work, 8am – 4pm, Monday to Friday.
Key Responsibilities and Duties:
Front Office Management: Acting as the first point of contact for visitors, parents, and staff, managing phone calls, emails, and school correspondence. Data Management & Attendance: Maintaining accurate pupil records, managing databases (Arbor), monitoring attendance, and processing lunch data. Administrative Support: Processing admissions, maintaining the Single Central Record (SCR) for safeguarding, and assisting with HR administration related to staffing. Communication: Distributing school newsletters, updating websites, and managing school mail. Organisation & Logistics: Assisting with school trips, managing school calendars, ordering of stock, and arranging meetings.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
IT Proficiency: Strong skills in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel) and experience with Arbor or similar. Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to interact with parents and external agencies. Safeguarding Knowledge: A commitment to child protection and maintaining confidentiality. Organisation: Ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced, often noisy, school environment.
Typical Qualifications & Background
Previous experience in an administrative or customer service role is frequently required. An enhanced DBS check is mandatory Relevant training
