Are you a dedicated GP looking to join a friendly, well organised and forward-thinking team? Due to list size expansion and the loss of our valued GP with a special interest in womens health, we are delighted to offer a new opportunity for a 4-6 session Salaried GP to join our vibrant practice. We are flexible on the number of sessions and invite conversations about what works best for you.

Main duties of the job

The Role

Up to 6 sessions per weekTeam player with interest in constant improvementEssential interest in womens or female health including menopause, contraception and gynaecology LARC and coil experience desirableShared duty doctor sessions (morning and afternoon) with no pre booked appointmentsHome visits are mostly managed by a home visiting service, though palliative and care home support remains valuedInvolvement in enhanced access sessions on Tuesday and Thursday evenings and occasional Saturday mornings on a rota basis

You will work alongside three GP Partners, five reliable Salaried GPs, two Nurse Practitioners, two Practice Nurses, a Health Care Assistant, two PCN Pharmacists, a First Contact Physiotherapist, a Care Coordinator and an amazing reception and admin team.

We are also human outside work: cyclists, bakers, hikers, kickboxers and even bell ringers. And if you do not have a dog, we will happily lend you one.

Job description Job responsibilities

Duties and Responsibilities

The duties of the post are to provide a full range of General Medical Services as contained within the National Health Services (Primary Care) Act 1997 and which will include domiciliary visits as deemed appropriate.

The post holder is expected to support the Partners of the Mickleover Medical Centre in providing all services outlined in the GMS Core Contract and also in the aims and objectives of the Practice.

The post holder is expected to support and input into the aims of the Practice in areas of clinical governance, good practice, quality outcomes framework, enhanced services, practice audit, referral review and any other improvement plans as determined by the Practice.

The post holder is encouraged to utilise and develop any skills for the improvement of services to patients, such as minor operations, child health surveillance, family planning training etc, if approved by NHS England / Area Team /ICB (as appropriate). This will be subject to presentation of the appropriate certificates and update of relevant courses.

The post holder is expected to maintain and keep good standards of computerised clinical records at all times. Full involvement in any practice training and ongoing requirements of our status as a paperless practice is expected.

The post holder is expected to maintain and keep good standards of paperwork/digital accuracy in record keeping.

Person Specification

Skills & Attributes Essential

- Excellent communication and team working skills - Proficient in, or willing to learn, SystmOne clinical system - Commitment to equitable, compassionate patient care

Desirable

- Understanding of QOF and clinical audit - Interest in clinical leadership or quality improvement - Active participation in service development or innovation

Qualifications Essential

Fully qualified GP, registered with the GMC and on the NHS England performers list

Desirable

Additional qualifications in womens health or sexual health DFSRH, LoC IUT/SDI, or similar Trained in fitting coils and implants Trained in Minor Ops

Experience Essential

- Experience working in General Practice - Experience managing own clinical workload and documentation - Experience in using SystmOne - Collaborative working, participating together

Desirable

- Involvement in teaching, supervision or mentoring - Involvement in quality improvement - Experience in delivering womens health services including contraception, menopause, and gynaecology - Experience in supporting Mental health patients
