Main duties of the job
Our Counsellor's are an integral part of our team, your role is to provide a safe, confidential and encouraging therapeutic environment. You will support people to explore feelings and emotions and reflect on what is happening to them and consider alternative ways of doing things. As part of your role, you will hold a nominated caseload of service users with co-existing substance use and mental health needs.
This is a permanent, part time role, working 22.5 hours per week (3x 7.5 hours a day). As part of this role, you will hold a Driver's Licence with access to a car.

Person Specification
Experience Essential
Demonstrable experience of working as a counsellor. Knowledge and understanding of health and safety, including assessing high-risk situations for clients. BACP accreditation/UKCP registration or equivalent (or evidence of actively working towards BACP accreditation or UKCP registration). Ability to build effective relationships with a range of internal and external stakeholders. To work as a team player. Resilient, you will have the ability to prioritise and work well under pressure. You will have excellent written and oral communication skills. Knowledge and understanding of group working and issues affecting substance misusers. Able to meet WithYou's safeguarding requirements of a satisfactory enhanced DBS/PVG certificate. Able to visit other locations from time to time in order to deliver the services required.
