Job summary
We are looking for a band 8a pharmacist to join us in a new role here at Porthcawl Medical Centre. We are looking for someone to work 4 days a week, we can be flexible on these days.
Main duties of the job
To work as part of the wider practice team as a Pharmacist with Independent Prescribing. We would like someone to complete medication reviews, support enhanced services including DOAC's and to assist us with QIF work along side other roles.

Porthcawl Group Practice is a large, progressive, teaching practice situated in the seaside town of Porthcawl. The practice is an extremely busy one with up to 14 doctors (7 Partners, 7 salaried GPs & registrars in training) at any one time.
The practice offers a pleasant but challenging place to work, serving a predominantly elderly population of high demand/expectations and multi-morbidity.
We have just over 15,600 patients on our list and are a high QIF achieving practice.
Job description Job responsibilities
In collaboration with the GP partners and the wider practice clinical team, to maintain and improve quality of general medical services and the management of prescribed medication for the registered patients of the surgery.
To work towards the achievement of the clinical elements of the Quality and Outcomes Framework in GMS and other enhanced services.
To utilise knowledge & skills to review medication & manage patients with long term and/or acute medical conditions

Person Specification
Qualifications Essential
Degree in Pharmacy Registered with GPhC Evidence of recent and relevant CPD Relevant post registration experience Medication review skills Experience in primary care role Demonstrate understanding of primary care systems For full list, please see personal specification in job advert document.
Desirable
Registered with RPS Ability to independently prescribe. Expertise in prescribing analysis and cost data An understanding of prescribing costs/efficiency For full list, please see personal specification in job advert document.
Experience Essential
Experience of working within a health care team environment. Previous experience working with clinicians and multidisciplinary/multiagency work. For full list, please see personal specification in job advert document.
Desirable
Working knowledge of EMIS IT clinical system
