We have an exciting opportunity for Senior Mental Health Nurse to join our Mental Health Team at HMP Kirkham, a category D Prison located in Kirkham, Preston and has a capacity of 700 males.
We are looking for someone to support and coordinate a small team of 2, you will have a good understanding of mental health pathways, providing data and quality assurance, the split of this role would be a 30% management and 70% clinical. The prison has it s own Healthcare department where you will be based and the mental health team and you will be managing a team of 2 which would be a registered nurse and a nurse associate HMP Kirkham offers: Onsite parking Staff gym access Training development opportunities Hours: Monday - Friday 8am - 4pm Monday and Thursday are drop in sessions which will finish at 6pm Weekend work as and when required Salary:
You will receive an annual salary of between £43,609 - £49,175 per annum depending on experience.

Main duties of the job
As a Senior Mental Health Nurse, your responsibilities will vary. You will
Responsible for assessment and ongoing management of our patients mental health needs. Work collaboratively with the multi-disciplinary team as an autonomous practitioner managing a caseload of patients, assessing their physical, social and psychological needs to develop a holistic health care plan. Contribute to our nursing strategy and vision to; Provide outstanding evidence based care to our patients, seeking out, listening to and acting on their feedback, so that care is personalised and informed by what matters to them. Deliver non-judgemental care, building therapeutic relationships and promoting professional boundaries. Play an active part in the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of the patients care following our policies and procedures and always considering safeguarding. NMC Registered - Mental Health Nurse Experience of working within mental health settings, developing knowledge and understanding of this patient group Evidence of Continued Professional Development Experience of working collaboratively with other agencies and stakeholders in a multi-disciplinary environment Although not essential ideal applicants would have experience in a hospital, community or prison environment.
