We value our RGNs highly, so development and training within this role will be offered and prioritised. There is an expectation that hours are worked flexibly over a rota basis which does include nights and weekends. We have full time and part time hours available.
You will require good communication skills, a team work approach and be able provide a high standard of nursing care with the support of your team.

Main duties of the job The staff nurse is responsible for the pre-assessment of adult patients having an elective, surveillance and in-patient emergency endoscopy procedure within Somerset NHS Foundation Trust. The post holder will be responsible for patient-centred assessments which includes liaising with patients, their carers, and the multi- disciplinary team. The pre- assessment covers the physical, social, emotional and spiritual needs of the patient. This assessment extends to identifying issues that can be resolved or optimized prior to procedure, in- order for the patient to have the best possible outcome

Qualifications Essential
Degree in Nursing Registered Nurse with NMC, undertaking the minimum clinical hours required to maintain registration and work within the NMC code of professional conduct Knowledge of the principles of clinical governance and its application Pre-assessment experience and or training Experience mentoring junior staff members Evidence of ongoing CPD Knowledge of current advances and pathways of care relevant to specialty Be familiar with the different diagnosis in the speciality.
