Job summary
We are looking for a Housekeeper to join our Team to help manage and support the day to day running of our Clinical services here at Fairbrook.
We are a busy, and dynamic GP surgery with approx 14,500 patients, and this role is vital to ensure that we can deliver the safe & effective care that our patients deserve. To do that, we need the support of a Housekeeper to help manage our Stock, Equipment procurement, ordering and rotation, and compliance, and therefore the day to day running of our service.
Main duties of the job
As Housekeeper, you will be responsible for ensuring that all clinical areas have the appropriate stock needed to run clinics, that ordering is efficient, cost effective, and timely, and rotated to ensure patient safety at all times.
You will also be liaising with the clinical and administrative staff to ensure all areas are stocked in date, and wastage kept to a minimum.
You will also be require to liaise with external agencies to procure equipment, medications and stock items on a regular basis, and maintain records of this, working with the finance team to ensure balances are kept.
You will be responsible for regular maintenance, and management of calibration of equipment on a yearly basis
You will also be required to help maintain regular checks and quality control measures for Equipment and medical devices withing the surgery
You will work under the management & supervision of the Lead Nurse, and sit withing the Nursing team structure

Job description Job responsibilities
The role of housekeeper will be responsible for the following roles:
Ordering all medical stock for use in Clinics.
Ensuring stock ordered has arrived, is in correct working order & rotating existing stock to ensure patient safety.
Keeping accurate records of orders placed, and received.
Regular emergency equipment checks under direction of the Lead Nurse including management of cloud storage data
Management of procurement services to ensure efficient & effective balancing of budgets
Stocking & tidying all clinical areas
Maintain calibration & PAT testing service & records yearly
Management of Equipment loaning service to patients
Assisting with Health promotion campaigns withing the surgery under supervision from Nursing staff, including maintaining our Notice boards, public health campaigns and newsletters
Liaising with local authorities to provide campaign resources, and supplies to help promote public health

Desirable
Some Knowledge of medical terminology, or previous experience in General practice.
