Based within the Radiology department at Prince Philip Hospital in Llanelli, Carmarthenshire; our service performs a comprehensive range of ultrasound investigations using state-of-the-art equipment, with all systems recently upgraded. Applicants must be a Registered Health Professional with an appropriate post graduate qualification in Medical Ultrasound and evidence of relevant experience. There may be a requirement to work flexible hours to meet service demands.

Main duties of the job
Be responsible for scanning patients and producing independent reports of these scans in line with departmental guidelines; Take an active role in teaching and practical training of student Sonographers and others in training; Participate in the audit and clinical governance programs with the department; To communicate with patients, their relatives, and others about the purpose of the examinations and the scan results (in line with departmental guidelines). To develop ones own skills and knowledge and contribute to the development of others, identifying any training needs to the Lead Sonographer; To plan and prioritise ones own workload and that of that area to ensure the efficient flow of work, keeping waiting times to a minimum whilst maintaining a high standard of service delivery.

Degree or equivalent diploma Case Accredited post graduate certificate or diploma at masters level in Ultrasound HCPC, RCT or registration with relevant professional body eg:NMC, RCN, RCM Sound Professional knowledge of imaging modalities (Eg ANC/TV scanning, Non-obstetric scanning) Evidence of current CPD portfolio
