We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Embryologist to step into the role of Laboratory Manager at Care Fertility Northampton on a 12month fixedterm maternity cover basis.

This is a key leadership position responsible for the daytoday management, development and performance of the embryology laboratory service, ensuring the highest standards of patient care, regulatory compliance and scientific excellence.

As a vital member of both the Clinic Management Team and the Group Embryology Team, you will play a central role in shaping the service, supporting colleagues and driving continuous improvement across the clinic during the maternity cover period.

Main duties of the job

Providing operational and professional leadership of the embryology laboratory serviceEnsuring compliance with all regulatory, governance and quality requirements, including HFEA standardsMaintaining high standards of patient care, confidentiality, traceability and data integrityManaging laboratory staffing, rotas, recruitment, induction and competency assessmentOverseeing laboratory equipment, consumables, cryostorage and donor sperm managementActing as Quality Lead for the embryology service, including audits, inspections and incident managementWorking collaboratively with the multidisciplinary clinic team to support clinical outcomesSupporting service development, quality improvement initiatives and research activity where appropriateParticipating in flexible working arrangements, including weekend and oncall rotas

As a Laboratory Manager at Care Fertility, you will be responsible for the day- to- day management and development of the embryology service. You will be accountable for stringently ensuring regulatory requirements and quality standards are met and high standards of patient care is delivered. You will work with the multi-disciplinary team and will be a critical component in providing our patients with the best possible treatment experience and as a team give each patient the very best chance of success. Person Specification

Qualifications Essential

BSc minimum 2:1 or equivalent in a relevant life science HCPC registration as a Clinical Scientist Proven experience in a senior embryology or reproductive science leadership role Strong understanding of HFEA regulation, quality management systems and laboratory governance Experience supervising, training and managing scientific teams Excellent leadership, organisational and decisionmaking skills

Desirable

RCPath Part I/II or HSST or working towards Leadership or management qualification Experience working within an HFEAlicensed fertility clinic STP Train the Trainer certification
