Band 5 Manual Handling Trainer
12 month Fixed-Term Contract37.5 hours per week
An exciting opportunity has arisen for aBand 5 Manual Handling Trainerto join our friendly and dynamicCore Skills Team.
The post holder will deliver high-quality, face-to-face practical manual handling training to clinical staff across the Trust. This will include mandatory training, bespoke and specialist sessions, and on-site delivery to specific staff groups.
You will provide clear, evidence-based advice and training to support compliance with relevant legislation, national standards and best practice. The role also involves developing and updating Manual Handling training programmes,maintainingaccuratetraining records, and assessing staff competence to reduce risk and support organisational assurance
Main duties of the job
In collaboration with theProfessionalDevelopmentTeam the Core Skills Manual Handlingtrainerwill deliver training to staff in forms of Induction,refresherand specialistprogrammes, supporting the Core Skills lead with the wider organisationobjectives. Provide specialist manual handling assessments of staff followingappropriate referralfrom Staffhealth & well-being.Encourage all areas to report incidents following the organisation incident reporting system. Ensurestatutoryand mandatory trainingis kept up to date.

Qualifications and Educaiton Essential
Recognised Manual Handling Trainer Qualification NEBOSH Certificate or equivalent Training/Instructor/Assessor Qualification Qualification RoSPA or equivalent
Desirable
Registered Health Care Professional Recognised Health and Safety Qualification
Communication Skills Essential
Used to working with multi-disciplinary teams. Adaptable and innovative excellent interpersonal and communication also good presentations skills.
Knowledge and Training Essential
Experienced Manual Handling teacher/instructor/experience of providing this type of training including specialist assessments and problem solving
Desirable
Background in Health and Safety
Experience Essential
Experience of working in a front line/service-based organisation Experience in working in high-pressure areas. Experience of developing management systems
Analytical and Judgement Skills Essential
Committed to maintaining good standards of Manual Handling and removing bad practices across the Trust.
