Main duties of the job As a Bank Catering Assistant at Elysium Healthcare, you will become a valued member of the staff bank at Victoria Gardens, working with people with complex mental health needs. You will report to the Head Chef and support chefs in meal preparation, maintain a clean and safe environment, and assist with deliveries. The role offers flexibility with shifts and provides a calm, pleasurable working environment where you can manage your workload effectively. Additionally, there's a social aspect to the job, allowing regular interaction outside the kitchen. Your responsibilities include assisting catering staff in meal preparation and cooking per company policies, serving food and beverages to service users, staff, and visitors, maintaining storage procedures and stock rotation, ensuring correct cleaning and storage of areas, equipment, and furniture, ensuring operational hygiene standards in the kitchen, and liaising with dietitians regarding planned meals. To succeed in this role, a relevant catering qualification is desirable, along with knowledge of COSHH and HACCP, experience in a similar role, and basic numeracy and literacy skills.

As a Bank Catering Assistant you will be:
Assisting catering staff with both the preparation and cooking of meals in accordance with the company’s policies and procedures. Serving service users, staff and visitors with food and beverages. Maintaining storage procedures and stock rotation. Ensuring that all areas, equipment and furniture are cleaned and stored correctly. As part of the catering team, ensuring the kitchen and associated areas meet operational hygiene standards and comply with the company’s policies and procedures. Location: Victoria Road, Huyton, Liverpool, L36 5SA Our will be working at Victoria Gardens, a specialist locked rehabilitation for people with complex mental health needs and behaviours that challenge, as well as a ward for older females. You will support the service to equip service users with the skills required for community living and increased independence.
The service is a recovery-based service and incorporates elements of the Good Lives Model, supported by individualised interventions. You will work as part of the multidisciplinary team which includes Nursing, Consultant Psychiatrist, Psychologist, Occupational Therapist and Social Worker support.
