Job summary
We are seeking an exceptional Vascular Access Senior Advanced Clinical Practitioner (ACP) to provide clinical, strategic and professional leadership within the Vascular Access Service at Velindre Cancer Service.
This is a rare opportunity to shape a high-impact, nurse-led service at a pivotal time of growth and transformation. You will combine expert autonomous clinical practice with strategic leadership to expand access, improve patient experience and deliver high-quality, sustainable care.
Demand for vascular access is rising, with plans to expand provision into outreach settings supporting care closer to home and broaden the range of devices delivered within a nurse-led model.
The post holder will be a vascular access clinical expert, autonomously managing complex complications within scope of practice. The role includes advanced assessment, informed consent, non-medical prescribing and referral, and leadership of vascular access complication pathways.
The post holder will lead service development, quality improvement, governance and education, and hold responsibility for the overall performance of the Vascular Access Service, including line management, financial and procurement oversight, policy development, and support for research and innovation.
Whilst offered at 8a, an appointment may be made under Agenda for Change Annex 21. A full Scope of Practice is available on request.
Main duties of the job
On a daily basis the Advanced Clinical Practitioner (ACP) will provide clinical assessment and management to patients.The post holder will access research/use information systems, lead, and carry out relevant research within practice as well as hold a broadknowledge around research methodology,The post holder will demonstrate clear principles of teaching and learning, as well as supporting others to develop through expert teaching andmentorship skills.
