About the Audit Semi-Senior / Senior role

We have an exciting opportunity for an Audit Senior or Audit Semi-Senior to join our team in the Letchworth office!
Working as an Audit Semi-Senior / Senior you will maintain a high level of audit knowledge and awareness of emerging issues whilst leading audit assignments from planning through to completion, delivering high-quality audits. You will oversee audit fieldwork, identify key risks, assess controls and provide practical recommendations.
We are looking for candidates with a minimum of 2 years audit experience within a practice environment and who are either AAT qualified or ACA/ACCA part qualified.
Key responsibilities of an Audit Semi-Senior / Senior will include:
Maintaining a high level of audit knowledge and awareness of emerging issuesLeading the planning, fieldwork and finalisation of all areas of the audit assignmentCarrying out audit fieldwork according to the audit plan and firm's audit proceduresInvestigate and determine causes and irregularitiesInvestigate and assess controls and systemsIdentifying key audit risks and appropriate mitigation strategiesProvide recommendations for improvements to client's systems and internal controlsCommercially aware of productivity, recoverability, fee income and client serviceSupervising and training junior members of the teamPreparation of financial statements from trial balance
About you
We are looking for candidates with the following skills and experience:
AAT qualified or ACA/ACCA part qualifiedAt least 2 years audit experience within a practice environmentAbility to work to tight deadlines and understand the importance of meeting client expectations
Ability to proactively communicate at all levels, both in writing and verballyHas a good working understanding of auditing standards/accounting principlesHas a good knowledge of financial reporting requirements including FRS 102Experience of working with audit and accounts production softwareExcellent IT skills are essential - good knowledge of ExcelEnjoys working with a wide variety of client groups and sectorsTakes ownership of responsibilities and acknowledges limitations
