QualificationsTo be considered for the position, you must meet the following qualification requirements. Education: There is no substitution of education for specialized experience for this position. Experience: You must have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent in difficulty and complexity to the next lower grade level. To be creditable, this experience must have equipped the applicant with the particular qualifications to perform successfully the duties of the position, and must typically be in or related to the position to be filled. Some examples of this qualifying experience are: Experience that demonstrates knowledge of the processes and principles of project management and information management, and the ability to apply them to resolve problems related to information systems. Experience in analyzing and evaluating IT investment programs and recommending and implementing processes for improving the efficiency and effectiveness of information technology programs. Experience leading phases of information systems projects and monitoring information flow and progress of users, analysts and programmers throughout the systems development process. Experience monitoring, coordinating, and analyzing an organization's budget and IT acquisitions. If applicable, credit will be given for paid and unpaid experience. Major DutiesProvides services to other Central Office IT branches and field computer services organizations. Performs management analysis functions to determine how Bureau program area productivity can be improved through automation and IT portfolio management. Prepares feasibility studies and cost/benefit reports to assist the decision-making functions of high-level management. Leads phases of information systems projects and assumes responsibility for customer and team member contact during the development, implementation, and follow-on phases of the Systems Development Life Cycle.
